Packaging and sterilization
Most of Cenova’s customers have specific requirements for the purity of the final product. Often, this is associated with a requirement for sterility. Therefore, Cenova has established partnerships with several major suppliers in the sterilization field.
As part of ensuring the sterility of the final product, a primary packaging that serves as a sterile barrier is required. Cenova works with several different techniques, and components in the form of blisters from its own vacuum forming process are often used to create a functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing final product.
Sealing is a core process where it is equally important to create a seal as it is for the final product to be easy to open. Cenova has extensive experience in developing and qualifying packaging and sterile barriers. This is done by following international standards similar to other processes, such as ASTM F1886, F1929, F1980, F2096, F88, etc., as well as ISO 11607-1, 15378, EN 868-X, etc.
For several years Cenova has been working closely with STERIS – one of the world’s largest providers of laboratory services and sterilization (www.steris.com).
Cenova also has extensive experience with various types of secondary packaging. This is particularly important because packaging patterns must fit the chosen sterilization method. With a large number of standardized and well-tested packaging solutions, we ensure that this aspect of product design is not overlooked and is correct from the beginning.
