From development to advanced cleanroom production
Close collaboration brought the project to life
The project involved approximately 60–70 new components for which Cenova managed sourcing, alongside shared responsibility for additional components supplied by Alfa Laval. New supplier relationships were established, and a complex assembly process was developed through close collaboration between the two companies.
Together, we developed production tools, test methods and acceptance criteria to ensure reliable production. Most of the fixtures and measurement stations were built in Cenova’s own workshop.
“It was a challenging and rewarding project that took our advanced assembly capabilities to the next level. We took on significant responsibility for developing production tooling that demanded a high degree of precision,” says Filip Malmborg, Account Manager at Cenova.
Trust led to an expanded partnership
The successful collaboration paved the way for the next step: CultureOne Maxi, a larger product in the same family. Cenova was once again entrusted with production preparation, with the scope expanding to include the manufacture of several plastic components in its cleanroom facilities.
“This type of project demonstrates what Cenova can contribute. By getting involved early and working closely with the customer, we can turn our experience and technical expertise into practical solutions that work all the way through to production,” says Johannes Kask, CEO at Cenova.
Technical expertise and customer focus build lasting trust
After several years of collaboration, Alfa Laval highlights Cenova’s responsiveness, technical expertise and experience in medical device manufacturing as key strengths of the partnership.
“Cenova is very responsive and customer-focused, which we have greatly appreciated both during the project and in production. They have strong technical expertise. We have also benefited greatly from their extensive experience in medical technology and ISO 13485,” says Pontus Linderholm, R&D Manager at Alfa Laval.
